Directing party cadres to unleash violence against Awami League and throw petrol bombs on innocent lives have long been a signature tactics for BNP leader Nipun Roy Chowdhury.
Interestingly, after expourse of cctv footages showing Nipun led the latest round of vandalism perpetrated by BNP cadres in a local Awami League party office that left over 20 supporters injured BNP activists are seen putting up a curious defence in favour of their leader!!
“Our leader is a proud International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) fellow”, is the line peddled by ardent BNP supporters without offering any apology for the attack that Nipun found leading on the party office.
In the wake of latest cctv footages, netizens started questioning about basis of selection yard-sticks followed for IVLP with many urging the authorities about “how can they remain oblivious of such violent track record demonstrated by Nipun to gain prominence on her party as the fugitive acting chief called for ouster of the government”.
However, instigating party carders in unleashing violence is nothing new for this IVLP fellow as a reportedly leaked call record, months back, exposed Nipun sending instructions to an apparent arsonists for throwing bombs on a public vehicle.
“Target one vehicle, hurl fire bombs but don’t forget to place someone to capture these moments of firebombing and must send me these videos”, Nipun can be heard as saying in the conversation.
Some netizens even referred to another video where Nipun is seen hurling abuses to local police officers and asking her activists to swoop on them before getting into her car, urging IVLP officials to explain if the authorities extend support to such works.
Others questioned the silence of IVLP authorities over keeping mum over indulgence to such violent activities by one fellow.
“we have seen many great leaders held IVLP fellowship but such violent path pursued by a fellow going unchallenged is a matter of serious concern”, wrote one netizen.
