In 2009 days before the UN General Assembly conference, Dr Yunus complained to Melanne Verveer, chief of staff of Hilary Clinton, about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in an email. Referring to a news published in The Daily Star, Dr Yunus wrote that Sheikh Hasina expressed dissatisfaction with him though he did not know the reason. However, the report did not name Grameen Bank, Dr Yunus or related people anywhere. The Prime Minister only said that those who failed to seize power during 1/11 are now conspiring against the country from abroad and the countrymen should be aware of them. However, Dr Yunus assumed that she made the comment targeting him. Does it mean that Sheikh Hasina was right? A proverb goes guilty mind is always suspicious. Anyone would assume it after listening to Dr. Yunus’ complaint. Everyone knows that he was very active during 1/11 with political intentions. Dr Yunus is unwanted as he tried to fulfil his own interests by demeaning democracy during such a critical time.
The falsehood of Dr Yunus about Sheikh Hasina to Hilary Clinton:
Dr Yunus made a baseless complaint that she was not allowing him to set up nursing school and university.
In 2009, an email sent to Hillary Clinton from her colleague Melanne Verveer shows Dr Yunus complained that Sheikh Hasina did not allow him to establish the nursing school and university. He also alleged that Sheikh Hasina got angry at Grameen’s name.
There was no evidence supporting Yunus’s allegation till now. In 2012, Dr. Yunus established hospitals in several parts of the country. At present, a nursing school is also running in Diabari. Though the government took no action to shut down these, Dr Yunus made false claims.
